Thrifted Thursday with Charmaine of My Best Friend Craig

my best friend craig, thrifted thursday, cantilever chairs Today I am SO excited to feature the queen of Craigslist, Charmaine of My Best Friend Craig.  This lady has serious style.  I mean, take me to Wisconsin and move me in NOW.  I love every one of her pieces and her Instagram feed has me drooling on the regular.

Your favourite thrifted item:

It was seriously hard to pick a favorite since I have a lot but I ended up choosing these chrome cantilever chairs.

Where you bought the piece from:

I purchased the set of 6 chairs on Craigslist for $60!! That's $10/chair. Major score.

What drew you to the piece:

I'm addicted to chairs and am partial to mid century modern furniture. I also love the navy blue velvet fabric.

Describe any work you did to give it new life:

I bought them in mint condition so some minor cleaning and polishing are all that's needed.

How you use/display it:

They sit in my dining room and I and am currently on the hunt for a wooden dining table to perfectly match my chairs.

Thanks so much for sharing today, Charmaine.  These chairs are to die for and I still can't get over that ridiculous price, what a steal!   The navy velvet is so delicious, I'm going to have to re-consider navy for my Louis chairs, eek!

If you haven't already done so, make sure to check out Charmaine's Blog and her Apartment Therapy Tour.  Then right after that, open a new tab and pay Craig a visit...I know you want to!

Fab Finds via Style at Home

Some of you may remember this cabinet I was lusting over. It was part of my Snowy Furniture Friday post back in February. I spotted this beauty at a local consignment shop called The Singing Lady. I was so in love with the piece but decided against it because of the lack of space in our condo.

Well, during the weekend I was browsing through the June issue of Style at Home Magazine and let out a scream of both shock and awe as I spotted something that looked very familiar:

I still can't believe it! I'm pretty sure it's the exact same piece and I just LOVE what they did with it. The fresh coat of white paint and silvery finish on the medallions really make this piece stand out against the dark wall. I also love how they've paired it with some sleek and modern neutral chairs and of course the Souk wool rug from West Elm which seems to be on everyone's wish list right now. Gorgeous! If you haven't seen the June issue of Style at Home yet, I suggest you take a quick look. I just love this feature on Fab Finds and how to decorate on a budget.

I love how a fresh coat of paint and some minor touch ups can restore an old piece back to it's original glory. Do you have any furniture pieces you would like to restore or have you stumbled across any fab finds lately?
