And just like that, we are done. It’s reveal day and I am so excited to share this space with you all. Project Mildred Manor actually started over 6 weeks ago because as you all know, decorating takes time. We started with an initial consultation, discussed the budget, then moved on to a concept board, furniture layout and accessories.
You may remember the before photos of their space. The Gus Modern sofa & chair were already purchased prior to starting this project but they were great pieces to start with.
Styling a home is extremely personal and I’m so grateful to Mike and Genevieve for welcoming me into their space and trusting me with their vision. I really wanted to hone in on their style as each of them had different ideas on how they wanted the living and dining room to look. After some discussion and weeks of pinning, they decided they wanted something Modern, French & Moroccan.
The wool rug was one of the first purchases made and it really served as the jumping off point for the design. The pattern of the rug had a bit of tribal influence but some french flourishes as well. And of course, having something soft underfoot really ups the cozy factor! (all sources at the end of the post).
I found the burnished gold mirror for an insane price on Kijiji. I love how it looks with the modern swing arm light from Wayfair.
The console table was another great find. I looove this piece. It's handcrafted of solid wood and the prism detail on the front is incredible. It has both a modern and Moroccan feel to it.
For the dining area, my clients wanted to keep the existing chairs so we swapped the old table for something with a little more character. It's also extendable which is convenient for dinner guests and entertaining. Some classic French Louis chairs provide extra seating in both areas of the room.
