Soooo, life happened and I skipped Week 3's update. OOPS. The truth is, I'm actually in the midst of styling a client space and we're right about halfway which means a ton of sourcing and travelling on my part. Exciting times! But I'm also juggling some graphic design projects which explains my missed post. But that's a whole other post and today is all about the One Room Challenge, Week 3 AND 4! Here we go...
After having no luck finding a stool for my vanity area, I decided to hit the Aberfoyle Antique Market on Sunday which was the opening weekend. Let me tell you, this girl went home happy because I scored some amazing finds!
I could easily spend the whole day there which is precisely why my husband was nowhere to be found (haha); instead my parents came along. Growing up, Sundays were all about thrift stores and flea markets and finding things to repurpose for our home (hence the name of my blog). If you live in the Greater Toronto Area, I suggest you check it out if you haven't already been.
I found my stool for $20. It's dirty and a little disgusting but I like it — cracked paint and all. I'll clean it up a little but for the most part, it's staying as is. I'm actually wondering if I should peel off more of the paint. Thoughts? I also found this interesting teak light pendant for $25.
Right before leaving, I spotted these hobnail chenille blankets which I fell in love with (I mean, look at that detail!) And for $20 each, how could I say no? It will bring in some really nice texture to the bed and complement our popcorn ceiling...........
ewwww. I was totally joking. I hate popcorn ceilings and just noticed how prominent it looks in this photo. But I will turn a blind eye because we don't have the time or the money to put towards that. On another note, after sleeping in our bedroom for a year, WE HAVE CURTAINS! I opted for some simple white Ritva's from IKEA.
Some great progress over the past week but there's still A LOT to do. Don't forget to check back next Thursday for another update and also visit the other featured designers and guest participants to see what their week 4 is lookin' like!
