I love the holidays for so many reasons. Of course, quality time with some of my favourite people are at the top of my list but also – searching for that perfect present for someone and wrapping it up brings me so much joy! Ever since I was a child (pre-Pinterest days), I would watch my Mom wrap her gifts in typical Martha Stewart fashion and I would try and copy every little detail while adding my own special touch to it. She used to get super-creative with her embellishments, pulling everything from ornaments to dried eucalyptus and berries. This definitely rubbed off on me because now I put so much care into wrapping presents for people. I’ve also taken it to the next level: I usually have a ‘gift-wrapping night’ which entails playing my favourite X-mas tunes and drinking hot chocolate (or wine) all while in my P.J’s.
This holiday, I’ve partnered with Hot Pop Factory to create some personalized gift tags that double as ornaments. I love natural materials and I knew laser-cut wood would be my material of choice. I worked with Biying, co-founder of Hot Pop to bring my designs to life.
I'm so happy with how these turned out. They could even be painted but I decided to keep things natural :) A big thanks to Hot Pop Factory for collaborating with me on this project.
